30 May 2014 - Tafsir of Surah Baqarah. Ayat 111
He starts with a segment on zakat. He starts with (1) the meaning of zakat, (2) when it was made compulsory, (3) when one must give zakat, (4) how should one give it, and he concludes with (5) warning against those who do not give zakat. Thereafter, he highlights (6) the fitnah of the ahl kitab. He then details by warning against (7) imitating the disbelievers and in subtext against (8) cutting the beard and lowering trousers. He illustrates (9) how the people of the book will call to them but will not follow you. He then discusses people guaranteeing jannah. He explains and declares that ,(10) it is not our place to guarantee jannah and in subtext (11) warns against men touching women and (12) saying ‘jannat baqi’. He concludes with the point that (13) one should do not declare someone to belong to jannat categorically. He finishes with a reminder that (14) one should remember the favour others have done. 02 May 2014 - Tafsir of Surah Baqarah. Ayat 107
Sh. Saleem Nawab discusses (1) the relationship between Allah (the master) and His slave, (2) the five names of Allah almighty, (3) the knowledge of Allah with an allusion to the story Hadrats Musa and Khidr (peace be upon them). He concludes with a discussion of (4) the one who is deprived of Allah almighty's help and (5) interest being one of the major causes of deprivation.

25 April 2014 - Tafsir of Surah Baqarah. Ayat 105-106
25 Jumada II 1435 (1:105-106). Sh. Saleem Nawab discusses (1) the continuation of the wisdom behind addressing the Ahl kitab before the mushrikin in this ayat, (2) the Quran being a mercy, (3) the fact that everything happens by Allah almighty's decree and that one cannot runaway from their fate. Then he iterates (4) the Quran being the a great bounty given Allah almighty and illustrates this with hadith bitaqah, (5) the two lessons Shaykh al-Hind learnt whilst imprisoned in Malta. Thereafter, he moves on to Ayat 106 where he discusses abrogation specially addressing (6) the objections of the Ahl Kitab about abrogation and the corresponding answers, (7) the lessons to learn from the changing of the Ka'bah, and questions (7) why should the Ahl kitab be jealous. He concludes with some details such as (8) what ayats can be abrogated and (9) how many ayats are abrogated. The final point he makes is (10) the importance of the Quran and what a mercy it is. 18 April 2014 - Tafsir of Surah Baqarah. Ayat 104-105
18 Jumada II 1435 (1:104-105). Sh. Saleem Nawab discusses (1) the status of the prophet (peace be upon him), (2) the 3 characteristics of the disbelievers, (3) the effects of word choice, and (4) when called upon to listen attentively. There after he expounds upon (4a) the 3 characteristics of “azab ‘alim” (painful punishment) and (4b) not to take the fire lightly. He concludes ayat 104 with (5a) the concept of sadd al-zarai’ (shutting floodgate to sin) and illustrates this with a (5b) description of the classical ka’bah. Thereafter, he mentions (6) the connection between ayat 104 and 105. Then he states (7) the difference between ma and la, (8) the different meanings of kufr, (9) the claims of the banu Isra'il and (10) the wisdom behind addressing the ahl kitab before the mushrikin in this ayat. 11 Jumada II 1435. Sh. Saleem Nawab discusses (1) all good and bad is from Allah almighty, (2) what should one say and think when calamity befalls, (3) the feeble nature of man, (4) the four qualities Allah almighty emphasises when discussing tawhid, (5) the superiority of dua over ruqya, and (6) the nature of magicians. Thereafter, in the last ten minutes, he discusses (7) the connection between ayat 102 and 103, and urges (8) not to curse and (9) to focus more when Allah almighty says "O believers!". Download
