Create weight in your actions

Translated by Muhammad Saifur Rahman

This is an extract from a lesson on the final lesson of Bukhari in Madani Girl School, London on Sha'ban 1432. This is a translation from Urdu.

To create weight in your actions, develop Ikhlas (sincerity). Every action, whatever the action, do it for the pleasure of Allah almighty. Become free from the complements and contempt of creation.

The creation cannot give you anything. The deceptions that we fall into, ‘I am this famous’, ‘I have so many people following me’, ‘So many people think high of me’. Even if they think that, so what! Even if they think that, so what!

My Shaykh would say a poem

The love of this world becomes cold after it
O heart! They are just words so what after it

Meaning, If somebody compliments me, calls me big, gives me a grand title and says to me, ‘You have given a beautiful speech’, ‘You have written splendidly’, ‘You have said something very good’. So what is after it? It has flown away, Those words have flown away in the air. You have enjoyed it. So if you want to enjoy it [again] can you say, ‘That which you said was very nice, very enjoyable can you say it again’ or constantly ask him [repeat], ‘say it again’ ‘encore, encore’ . So enjoy this or else it has flown away. Now sit and contemplate, so and so did or said something good and it was so enjoyable; just sit contemplating this. Meaning, it is nothing.

The love of this world becomes cold after it
O heart! They are just words so what after it

Valuable statement is that he [Allah] says, He says, He, for whom the work has been done, says, So forget the complements of the creation. So forget the contemplation of the created. Who says good and who says bad; Forget that and work solely for Allah.
