Love Allah

Our ultimate aim in life should be to attain the love of Allah. In order to gain that love we must love Him in turn. By their very nature, humans love; be it an object or a person. Be it for their qualities, the way they treat us or the way they make us feel. We love things despite their temporary nature, their flaws and disappointments because it is an intrinsic part of being human. Allah is permanent, without defect and does not disappoint. Allm. Ibn Taymiyyah said,

The heart will not find complete happiness except by loving Allah and by striving towards what is dear to Him.

So why is it that many a times we allow our hearts to be misled and love things that bring us nothing but darkness. How can our hearts that is rightfully His, not love the One [for] whom hearts were created to love, and for whom creation was brought into existence. The One, who answers all prayers, forgives our sins and grants us rewards? How can a servant not love, with all his heart and body, the One who is constantly merciful and generous towards him in spite of all wrong actions?
