Riding the waves after Ramadan

[Ramadan brings within us a wave of positive changes, we must maintain these waves after Ramadan through increased action, pious association and intermittent reminders - Saif]

Our intention should be such that we renew our Iman, we keep it fresh. This Iman, this din, this shari'ah are the foundation of our life. This is a commodity, this is a treasure, this is an investment which we have to take safely to the other realm [...].

In reality, the barometer that we have for Iman, what happens sometime is that when we sit in the Masjid or Ramadan Mubarak is ongoing, it feels like there is a wave. [It feels like] a wave is rising. It really feels like we are Muslims and real Muslims. We are Muslims anyway! [Feels like we are] proper Muslims. However, as soon as Ramadan passes, this state slowly slowly diminishes.

So this sometimes puts a person in doubt. However, the reality is that Iman is still there. Even after Ramadan it is still there, rest assured it is still there, but it requires some waves; the wave in Ramadan.

In the ocean, when there is no ferociousness, no waves, the water is the amount it is. However, sometimes when waves emerge, it seems as if the water has increased. The water has not increased; the water is as it was rather the waves are rising [...] This is the case of the blessed gathering of the prophet (peace be upon him) that there is a rise of ripples and wave in Iman which gives the sense that Iman has risen.

So this is exactly the state in Ramadan Mubarak. There is a rise of waves in Ramadan. Thereafter, it becomes calm. So then from time to time, there comes a need for warning, of reminders, and of speeches and advices. The manner in which Quran Karim is read in Ramadan Mubarak, it should continue after it. [There should be] variety of ibadat or the association with the pious and roaming with the pious. As a result, this creates surges.
